It has said that it will not force users to adopt its new privacy policy till the new data bill comes into force. In its reply given in the Delhi High Court, it has said that it will not limit the functionality of those users who are not following this privacy policy.

WhatsApp told a bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh that it will not limit the functionality of users who are not following its privacy policy. Its intention is not to get users to follow its privacy policy at the moment.

The bench was hearing the appeals of Facebook and WhatsApp against the order of a single judge bench. The Single Range Bench refused to stay the order of the Competition Commission of India, which had asked to examine the privacy policy of WhatsApp. Well-known lawyer Harish Salve argued on behalf of WhatsApp in the court. He said that WhatsApp will continue to show the update display for its users.
